The International Institute of Seismology and Earthquake Engineering (IISEE) was established in 1962 and has provided training courses in the field of seismology and earthquake engineering for the so-called developing countries supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (Ministry of Construction until Jan. 2001) of Japanese Government and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). IISEE Bulletin is published on the IISEE web (https://iisee.kenken.go.jp/en/information/bltndb/). The Bulletin publishes invited articles on seismology, earthquake engineering, and tsunami disaster mitigation, relevant to developing countries. Please contact the editorial office if you are interested in submitting an article for publication in the IISEE Bulletin.

The manuscripts submitted for invited Original Papers and Letters will be reviewed by those whom the editorial office will select appropriately for each one. Acceptance, Request for a considerable or minor change, or Rejection will be informed by the editorial office.
When submitting manuscripts, misconduct such as duplicate submission, fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, etc. is prohibited. If any misconduct is found, the editorial office will withdraw the published paper. However, the following contents can be submitted as exceptions for the duplicate submission:
1) Papers intended for very limited readers (e.g., reference materials for a closed study meeting, reports for Grants-in-Aid for scientific research, reports or others on achievement for contracted research)
2) Manuscripts that only contain summarized contents (e.g., abstracts for a workshop, symposium, or international meeting)
3) Academic dissertations (theses) by authors
4) Other contents approved by the editorial office as an exception.
IISEE does not request any submission fee from the contributors to IISEE Bulletin for promoting and helping the research activities in developing countries. However, to minimize the IISEE's financial load, the contributors are requested to make their manuscript exactly following the instruction written on the back cover of this volume.
Contributors are also requested to fill out and submit the check sheet designated by the editorial office when submitting a manuscript. The check sheet and the template file are provided to contributors from https://iisee.kenken.go.jp/ or by e-mail if necessary.
IISEE Bulletin is not for sale in any way. The copy is distributed to the libraries that have contacted with IISEE without any subscription rate. The potential readers are recommended to access the libraries on the list.
Potential users of tables, figures, or short extracts of papers published in IISEE Bulletin must apply to the editorial office by e-mail and obtain permission for reuse of them.
