1. Greetings to All Readers

Dear Readers of IISEE Newsletter, I wish you, your families and colleagues
a Happy and Prosperous New Year. May we see IISEE enforcing the training
program forward in 2017, too.

2. The 22nd The Global Seismological Observation Training Course has started

The Global Seismological Observation Training Course has stared on
Tuesday, January 17th 2017. 18 participants from the following 14 countries
are participating in this training course:

3. The 11th Asian Seismological Commission (ASC) General Assembly

By Dr. Tatsuhiko Hara, Chief Research Scientist, IISEE

The IISEE Director, Dr. Yokoi and I attended the 11th Asian Seismological
Commission (ASC) General Assembly, which was held during the 25th and 27th
November, 2016 in Melbourne, Australia.

4. Deadline for IAG-IASPEI Joint Scientific Assembly

The deadline for the mentioned assembly is set at Feb. 8. This meeting is mainly
for Seismology and Geodesy, but few sessions are for Engineering Seismology and
Seismic Hazard and Risk,
